Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 17, 2026

1. Introduction

SocioScout ("we," "us," or "our") provides a software platform that monitors public social media conversations and surfaces high-intent business leads using automated analysis. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you create an account or use our services.

By registering for or using SocioScout, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Information we collect

Account information

When you sign up, we collect your email address and password (stored securely by our authentication provider). You may optionally provide your name in account settings.

Campaign and usage data

We store the campaigns you create (keywords, platform targets, status), leads surfaced in your dashboard, and actions you take on those leads (for example, marking a lead as contacted or ignored).

Connected social accounts

If you choose to connect a social platform (such as X, Threads, or Facebook), we receive and store OAuth tokens and basic profile identifiers needed to operate integrations on your behalf. We do not store your social platform password.

Public conversation data

To deliver the service, we collect and process publicly available posts and related metadata from supported platforms (author display name, handle, post text, URL, timestamps, and engagement counts where available). This data is not private user data you submit to us; it is sourced from public channels according to your campaign configuration.

Technical and log data

We automatically collect standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, and usage logs to secure the platform, diagnose issues, and improve performance.

3. How we use your information

  • Provide, operate, and maintain your SocioScout account and dashboard
  • Monitor public conversations and classify posts for buying intent using automated analysis
  • Generate AI-assisted summaries, scores, and reply drafts for leads in your campaigns
  • Authenticate you and protect against fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
  • Send service-related communications (such as account verification and security notices)
  • Improve reliability, develop new features, and understand aggregate usage patterns
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

4. AI processing

We use third-party AI services to analyze public post content and produce intent scores, categories, urgency estimates, and optional reply suggestions. Post text sent for classification is limited to what is needed to deliver the feature. We do not use your account credentials for AI processing.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these cases:

  • Service providers — hosting, database, authentication, email delivery, analytics, and AI processing partners that process data on our instructions (including Supabase, cloud infrastructure providers, and AI API providers)
  • Social platforms — when you connect an account, we interact with the relevant platform APIs according to their terms and your authorization
  • Legal requirements — when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of SocioScout, our users, or others
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to continued protection of your information

6. Data retention

We retain account and campaign data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, security, or backup purposes. Public post data collected for campaigns may be retained in aggregated or de-identified form for service improvement.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit, access controls, and isolated database policies. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal information
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@socioscout.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and secure OAuth flows when connecting social accounts. You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work correctly without them.

10. International transfers

SocioScout may process and store information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border data transfers.

11. Children's privacy

SocioScout is intended for business users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated by email or in-product notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
